Attending Columbia was an absolute dream come true for me and I have experienced the most incredible moments as a part of this community. I have traveled the world, attended some of the swankiest events in the city, learned from some of the most amazing and accomplished people alive and, most importantly, gained invaluable insights into myself and the opportunities I have to be a positive force in this world. I am so proud to be a Columbian that my blood is literally light blue. I adore my alma mater and I will spend the rest of my life giving back to this community that has given so much to me. And while I have been fortunate to have experienced so much, nothing quite compares to sitting on stage for Columbia’s 2013 Commencement. It's truly difficult to describe what it was like to be on stage for those few hours. A picture certainly does not do it justice nor could any group of words I could try to put together. It felt as if time stood still. The regal façade of Low Library stood behind me and in front of me was the ever inspiring Butler Library. And between the two, a seas of Columbia Blue! The energy and spirit was palpable and almost overwhelming. Yet, at the same time, I felt humbled, at peace, and at home. I was so proud to be a Columbian that day (double Columbian!) as I looked out on a cheering, hopeful, and heartfelt crowd of accomplished Columbians. Everyone needs to experience this! The best I can do is provide this video of my view, to "Stand Columbia" of course. Enjoy!
