Magill Lecture in Science, Technology, & the Arts
The Magill Lecture in Science, Technology, and the Arts explores the synergy between art and science and is a celebration of the pioneers who bridge the gap between artistic and scientific endeavors.
This year's lecture will be given by Chuck Hoberman '85SEAS, noted mechanical engineer, designer, architect, and inventor. Through his products, patents, and structures, Chuck demonstrates how objects can be foldable, retractable, or shape-shifting. Such capabilities lead to functional benefits: portability, instantaneous opening, and intelligent responsiveness to the built environment.
